The Cost and Profit tab displays a summary .
This screen provides a snap-shot of vehicle profitability at any point in time, and draws your attention to certain issues which are detailed in this section.
Non-recoverable costs
Purchase Non-recoverable costs: Displays any purchase of non-recoverable costs displaying the description and amount
Sales Non-recoverable costs: Displays the sales of non-recoverable costs displaying the analysis code, description the amount and total costs.
Estimates
Estimated costs:Contains the total of all estimated costs on the vehicle.
Over estimate: Displays the value of estimated costs in excess of actual. If the actual cost is zero then the total estimated cost will be included. Any under estimated costs, for example where the actual exceeds the estimate will not be 'netted-off' here.
Late cost: Displays the value of any costs posted against the vehicle after
it has reached the accounts status of I (invoiced), also updates the actual
late cost value, and the Cost-of-sale or Total N/R, it will also update this field,
which is provided to highlight the existence of such late costs.
Estimated profit: Displays the difference between the actual invoiced amounts and the total of all estimated costs. The estimated costs, the 'actual' costs of the vehicle and any factory fitted options will be used to calculate the total estimate. The turnover of any un-invoiced items will not be included here, if the main vehicle invoice has not been raised, this will show a negative value.
Profit Details
Vehicle Sales: Displays the gross invoice value (net of VAT) of all items that have been invoiced. Any items awaiting supplementary invoicing will not be included.
Recoverable Sale: Displays the sales of recoverable items on the vehicle.
Total Sales: Displays the totals of the vehicle and recoverable specification lines, held on the specification tab
Vehicle Cost: Displays the actual cost of the vehicle
Recoverable cost:
Displays the recoverable specification lines, regardless of whether an invoice has been raised.Total N/R costs: Displays the actual cost of any non-recoverable items regardless of whether an invoice has been raised. The value could be negative if bonuses and commissions received exceeded non-recoverable costs. This value will reconcile to the Total costs shown at the bottom.
Over allowance: Displays the over allowances on part exchange vehicles (for example the difference between the allowance price and the initial SIV (stand in value) or WDV (written down value.)
Vehicle Margin: Displays the vehicle margin.
Recoverable Margin: Displays the recoverable specification lines margin for the vehicle.
Current Profit: Displays the profit of invoice, cost of sales, total N/R costs and over allowance, less all actual costs. Negative amounts will display if the main invoice has not been produced or the sales value exceed the total profit on the vehicle. This value will change when an actual cost is posted to the vehicle or further invoices are raised.
Invoice status: Displays the actual profit on the vehicle and date when the account status has moved to I (invoiced). This figure is frozen when the update takes place, and compares the 'Current' profit the total value of all costs that have been received and supplementary invoices raised, since the accounts status was moved to I. It will only change if the vehicle is taken 'backwards' from accounts status I.
Last NL close: Displays the actual profit on the vehicle when End of period option is run. Carry forward NL period function was run and the date on which the program was run. Again, this value is frozen at that point in 'Current' profit and the one declared in a prior month's accounts.
Displayed at the bottom of the screen is the progress code and accounts status, they are not editable, they can only be amended via the Purchase, Identity tab or the program Update Vehicle Status's.
