Introduction

The Ford warranty software is provided to prevent the need to re-key warranty invoice information produced on the Autoline system into the Ford Global Warranty Entry (GWE) package.

This Help System takes you from the invoicing of a warranty job on the Autoline system through the import of the claim into the Ford GWE system.

Claim Creation and Submission Process

In order to submit a claim to Ford, you must take the following four steps:

  1. Invoice warranty jobs in Point-of-Sale (POS) to create Ford warranty claims.

  2. Carry out any claim maintenance required.

  3. Transfer the claims to the Ford GWE Warranty System.

  4. Import the claims into the Ford GWE Warranty system, enter additional details required by Ford, and submit the claims.

Set-up

Before you invoice a warranty job, ensure that the Autoline and Ford GWE systems are set up correctly. The set-up is normally carried out by, or on advice from, a consultant.

Note: It is assumed that you are using the same PC for the whole process. If you are not running the Autoline system and GWE from the same PC, or you are a sub dealer forwarding claims to a main dealer, you may need to download the claims to a floppy diskette. If this is the case, ensure that the Autoline warranty parameter PC directory for GWE claims is set up to reflect this. In addition, dealers importing claims into GWE from diskette need to set up the GWE Import/Export parameters correctly.
