Note: Claims which have been denied cannot be re-submitted.
There are three types of claim denial:
Denial with Reference (Status code 2): the same claim has already been paid to you or another dealer
Denial without Reference (Status code 3): usually claims voided by the GM dealer or purged due to the age of correction claim on the system
Claim out of Warranty (Status code 5): claims that have been made against a vehicle outside the standard warranty period
To check the details of a claim denial:
Access the General Motors Warranty Claim Form.
With a claim at Status code 2, 3 or 5, in the General claim details group box, do one of the following:
Select View > Corrections and rejections from the menu bar, or
On the toolbar, click View corrections, rejections and denials for this
claim.
The GM Warranty Claim Denial Information form is displayed.
This form is displayed when the Status code field of the General Motors Warranty Claim form shows a claim status of 2, 3 or 5, and you either:
select View > Corrections and rejections from the menu bar, or
on the toolbar, click View corrections, rejections and denials for this claim.
It enables you to check claim denial information for the claim.
It has three tabs, of which only one is displayed at any one time, according to the Status code of the claim. There are three different types of claim denial, represented by the tabs.
