To edit labour details:
From the GENERAL MOTORS OPERATIONS Menu, select the Warranty V2 option.
The SERVICE, REPAIR AND WARRANTY CLAIMS Menu is displayed.
Select the Warranty claims option.
If there is more than one Point-of-Sale (SO) Company on your Autoline system, a list is displayed.
Select the SO Company required, if applicable.
The General Motors Warranty Claims form is displayed.
Type in, or find, the number of the claim whose labour lines you want to check or edit.
Tip: Click the ellipsis button to search for a claim.
You are returned to the General Motors Warranty Claims form, which is populated with details of the selected claim.
Click the large, manufacturer logo on the far right.
The General Motors Warranty Claim form is displayed.
Do one of the following:
Click Edit labour lines in the Labour operation group box, or
Select the Edit > Edit labour lines menu bar command, or
Click the Edit labour lines toolbar button.
The GM Warranty Labour Lines form is displayed.
Select the Main op(eration) for the claim, and view, or edit, the details.
If no labour line is selected to be the main labour line, the Main operation code field at the very bottom of the GM Warranty Labour Lines form becomes available. In that case, type in a different code.
Click OK.
Note: All claim details are saved when you save the claim. There is no separate save action for specific parts and labour.
When you exit, the General Motors Warranty Claim form is re-displayed with the details.
Note: Enter the Trouble code supplied by General Motors. You can do this at any time.
This form is displayed when, on the General Motors Warranty Claim form, you:
Click Edit labour lines in the Labour operation group box, or
Select the Edit > Edit labour lines menu bar command, or
Click the Edit labour lines toolbar button
It enables you to check, or edit, the labour details of a claim.
The form displays the main operation of the claim; the number of hours being claimed, and the labour rate to which those hours are applied.
GRID:
RTS Code: Repair Time Schedule code from the WIP. You can edit, to change RTS codes to those used by General Motors if required. A claim invoiced under WAR requires a different RTS/operation code: replace with a General Motors RTS code.
Note: Replacement of a non-GM labour operation/RTS code with the correct General Motors labour code for a given operation before submitting a warranty claim is not necessary if you use the interface to the TIS 2000 database. The database enables you to use the correct GM code in the Autoline WIP.
Tip: You can use the General Motors Warranty File Maintenance form to add, delete, or amend, RTS codes.
Description: Description of the labour line taken from the WIP. This is not editable, because it is not sent to General Motors. It is displayed solely to facilitate use of the RTS codes.
Time: Time allowed on the WIP for the selected line. (You cannot change it.)
Type: Type of line selected. Set the Type code by clicking in the contents box of the field (that is, in the Type cell for the line) and selecting main labour hours or supplementary hours from the displayed shortcut menu:
M for lines where the hours are to be sent as main operation hours
S for supplementary hours
Main: Portion of the time allowed allocated to the main operation
Note: For M-type lines, this is not editable. For S-type lines, it is possible to move a portion of the time to the Main hours; this automatically reduces the Supplementary time. The total must always match the total time allowed. This is useful for claims that have been invoiced on one line but must be separated into Main, and Supplementary elements.
Supp.: Portion of the time allowed allocated to the supplementary operation
Note: For S-type lines, this is not editable. For M-type lines, it is possible to move a portion of the time to the Supplementary hours; this automatically reduces the Main operation time. The total must always match the total time allowed. This is useful for claims that have been invoiced on one line but must be separated into Main, and Supplementary elements.
Exclude: If this check box is selected, the labour hours for this line are excluded from the claim/time taken, but the value is retained.
Note: This feature is useful where paint lines are separated into the hours for the work on one line and the paint and materials on another labour line, as is required by Point-of-Sale for posting. In the claim, this has to show as the two values added together, but only the labour hours. To do this, select the Exclude box on the paint and materials line. When it is selected, Main, and Supp. hours are set to 0, zero.
Net: Labour lines to be treated as net values, not as actual labour lines. When you select Net, the hours are removed from the Main, and Supp(lementary) fields, and the value of the line is transferred from Labour to Net items. Main and Supp(lementary) hours are set to 0, zero.
Paint: If this check box is selected, the line is a paint line and uses the special paint labour rate. This indicator is used to assist selection of the Paint labour rate on the General Motors Warranty Claim Form, within the General claim details group box.
Note: Selecting Paint does not affect the value of the claim, because you should have already taken the paint rate into account in Point-of-Sale.
Main op.: The main operation on the claim. If this check box is selected, the selected line is set as the main operation. This becomes that value in the main operation on the General Motors Warranty Claim Form, within the Labour operation group box.
Line value: Total value of this line on the claim. (You cannot change it.)
