When a claim is rejected by General Motors, it is returned with a Status code of 2, 3, 4 or 5, whose meanings are as follows:
2 Denial with Comeback Reference: updates the claim to STATUS 70
3 Denial without Reference: sets the claim to Status 60
4 Correction: sets the claim to Status 40
5 Out of Warranty: sets the claim to Status 70
If you have a Rejected claim, open the claim to see what General Motors says is wrong, edit the claim and re-submit it with the next batch. The Claim Corrections Form first shows any Correction codes returned by General Motors, and the system can store up to ten. This is the main information upon which to act. This information usually states clearly what the problem is.
To make claim corrections:
Double-click the appropriate claim line in the results grid of the Claim Search form.
The General Motors Warranty Claims form is displayed, populated with details of the selected claim.
Click the large, manufacturer logo button on the far right of the General Motors Warranty Claims Form.
The General Motors Warranty Claim form is displayed, showing Status code 4.
Select the Corrections and rejections command from the View menu, or click the View corrections, rejections and denials for this claim toolbar button .
The Claim Corrections form is displayed. The information on the form, together with the contents of the Referral text field on the General Motors Warranty Claim form, should enable you to determine what the problem is and correct it.
Click Exit to exit the Claim corrections form, then click Exit
on the General Motors Warranty Claim form.
You are returned to the General Motors Warranty Claims form.
Click the Padlock toolbar button to release the claim for editing.
The following message is displayed:
Edit this claim in preparation for resubmission? OK/Cancel
Click OK to edit.
The Padlock button shows an unlocked padlock . The status of the claim changes to 25: Correction in progress, and you may make any necessary changes.
Note: If you need to change any financial values on the claim, you must credit the job and re-invoice. This does not include the moving of time between Main and Supplementary hours, because this does not affect the final value of the invoice.
After you have made any necessary changes, click Save .
This saves the claim.
Click the Padlock button again.
This is to secure the claim and set it for re-submission in the next batch.
The following message is displayed:
Release this claim for resubmission? OK/Cancel
Note: If there are any problems with the claim, the Invalidity Reasons form is displayed.
Click OK to confirm re-submission.
The Padlock button is closed and unavailable. The claim status changes to Status 15: Corrected.
This form is displayed when, with the General Motors Warranty Claim form showing a claim at Status code 4, you select the Corrections and rejections command from the View menu, or click the View corrections, rejections and denials for this claim toolbar button . It enables you to check claim rejection information for the claim.

Tip: You can use the General Motors Warranty File Maintenance form to add, delete, or amend, Correction codes.

GRID:
The grid shows data sometimes supplied by General Motors if your claim does not match the expected value. It includes computed values, causal part, and main operation code.
Disguised ceilings: Disguised ceilings returned on the correction

Dealer indicator: Dealer indicator returned on the correction
Parts UPC code: Causal part code and part description returned on the correction
