Purging Claims

Gradually the file that the warranty claims are stored in will fill up. The Purge routine is used to delete claims that are now finished with and more than 30 days old. Only submitted claims are deleted. The default of 30 days is set up in the parameters and controls (Warranty purge days) but can be altered if necessary.

Note: If a WIP is held open for any reason at the time you select the Purge option, the WIP will reappear in the list of warranty jobs the next time you use the Auto-create or WIP list options to create claims.

To purge claims from the Autoline system:

  1. From the VOLVO UK OPERATIONS menu, select the Warranty option.

    The VOLVO UK WARRANTY menu is displayed.

  2. Select the Warranty claim option.

    The system prompts you for the Point-of-Sale (SO) company.

  3. Select the SO company and click OK.

    The Volvo UK Warranty Claims form is displayed.

  4. From the Tools menu, select the Purge option.

    A dialog box is invoked displaying the following message:

    Purge claims submitted before [date]

  5. Select the Continue option.

    The system removes all claims that have been submitted and that are older than the date specified in the parameters.
