Unlike a normal workshop department, Fastfit departments sell products and services rather than time, and technicians are normally treated as an overhead rather than a commodity to be sold. The core Point-of-Sale system is very much structured around the concept of selling time, and therefore the process for handling Fastfit work is more complicated, as the user must bend the processes to get the right result.
Fastfit Reporting enables the Fastfit department to process work quickly through the DMS, using a structured process that utilises the labour line to record the selling price for the job and the parts lines to capture the cost of sale. Basic diary booking entries can also be entered to help the adviser to identify when the work can be done.
In most cases the jobs being performed are automatically linked to the correct Fastfit category for invoicing and reporting purposes, but at the point when the WIP is invoiced this is checked, and the user is asked to identify any unlinked category, or change a category if required.
Fastfit Reporting provides key daily summary information such as sales to date (for the day) and bookings for the day or week direct from Point-of-Sale without the need to run any form of report generator. Fastfit Reporting also enables dealers to create questions that can pop up at predetermined points within the business process, and capture marketing information as required.
More detailed reporting tools are provided from the Fastfit module, which is accessed from Manufacturer Systems. These reports display sales information depending on the report filters selected, and provide the ability to drill into the data down to job level.
The software is a multi-franchise generic and can be fully configured for each Point-of-Sale company in the dealership's franchise.
Before you start using Fastfit Reporting in Point-of-Sale, you must set up the parameters that define how the software will behave.
Note: It is important to note that when the Fastfit Reporting software is active, the labour Fastfit department parameter in POS parameters must be blank.
From the Operations Menu select Fastfit reporting followed by the name of the Point-of-Sale company you require.
The Fastfit Reporting form is displayed.
Click the Fastfit Reporting options button on the form's toolbar or select Edit > Options on the menu bar.
