Creating New Trouble Codes

You can add new entries to the list of Trouble Codes.

To add a new Trouble Code:

  1. From the General Motors Operations menu select the Warranty V2 option.

    The Service, Repair and Warranty Claims menu is displayed.

  2. Select the Warranty claims option.

    If there is more than one Point-of-Sale company on your Autoline system, a menu displays a list of them, from which you must select the one required.

    The General Motors Warranty Claims form is displayed.

  3. Find the claim you want to check or edit.

    You are returned to the General Motors Warranty Claims form populated with details of the selected claim.

  4. Click the General Motors logo button.

    The General Motors Warranty Claim form is displayed.

  5. Click the Trouble code ellipsis button [...].

    The Trouble Codes form is displayed.

  6. Click Add code.

    The Create New Code form is displayed.

  7. Enter the new Trouble Code and its description and click OK.

    The new code is added.

  8. Note: Letters in Trouble Codes are capitalized automatically when the codes are selected to ensure that the codes are recognized by GM.

Create New Code Form

This form is displayed when you click the Add code button on the Trouble Codes form. It enables you to add new Trouble Codes.

Description: Description of the new trouble category

Tip: You can use the General Motors Warranty File Maintenance form to delete or amend Trouble Codes.
