Spend Analysis is available if it has been enabled as a customer function in the Available buttons tab of User Access Control. The Spend analysis profitability field in the User CRM Details tab of User Details must also be set.
Provides an analysis of expenditure for the selected customer, based on all sales transactions that have been processed through the Showroom, Vehicle stockbooks and Point of sale modules.
Tip:Information is held against customer records , if a company is not linked to a customer or the customer it is attached to has no sales activity, when spend analysis is selected from the company a message is displayed This customer does not have any spend history.
Warning: Spend analysis data is stored in a table called MK.spend and is only updated when daybooks are printed.
This grid lists the departments which are available on the customers additional details tab. When the spend analysis form is opened all departments are displayed regardless of whether any spend history is recorded against them. Departments that do not have any spend analysis can be masked from the view by selecting the suppress zeros button, all other departments are displayed in yellow to remove a department from the analysis click the on the department line.
Department: This is the CRM department code and description
Gross: Gross value of the total spend from the CRM department.
Net: Total net value of spend.
Margin: Margin on total spend
% Margin: Percentage margin on total spend.
From: Enter range date from.
To: Enter range date to.
Note: The date range From and To will only be enable if the manual date range is selected from the

Note: No date criteria displays the Year to date information which is also the default date when first entering spend analysis.
Item: Item number.
Analysis: Description of codes created in Spend analysis maintenance.
Last spend: Date of last spend.
Gross: Gross value of the total spend from the CRM department.
Net: Total net value of spend.
Margin: Margin on total spend
% Margin: Percentage margin on total spend.
Predicted: Next predicted spend date.
Note: Each header that displays a value will be totalled in blue at the bottom of the grid.
This grid initially shows a breakdown of the spend information by analysis code, by left clicking on an analysis line the grid will change to show a list of invoices for that analysis code. Alternatively, you can click the right mouse button and the following options are presented:Tip: The last three transactions on an analysis code are used to generate a 'predicted date of next spend' using the formula (((lastsale-firstsale)/2)+lastsale).
Taking the option to view invoices for this code or all invoices presents a new grid with the following headers.
Item: Item number.
Branch: The description of the customers branch.
Dept: Department where the document was generated.
Date: Date of document.
Doc num: Document number of the invoice.
Gross: Gross value of the total spend from the CRM department.
Net: Total net value of spend.
Margin: Margin on total spend
% Margin: Percentage margin on total spend.
Click the printer icon to display or print the selected document.
Note: Each header that displays a value will be totalled in blue at the bottom of the grid.

Analysis details are displayed by right clicking on the analysis section and taking the option for more details, showing additional information of the spend selected, this is broken down into three areas as described below.
Department: The description and Department code for this document.
Module / company: Source Module and Company number e.g. SO 01 (point of sale - company 01)
Document date: Date the document was created.
Invoice number: Documents invoice number.
Sales value: Total sales value of document.
Discount: Total discount on invoice.
Cost of sale: Total cost for this sale.
Margin: Total margin of the document.
%Margin:Total percentage margin of the document.
MK vehicle magic: The unique number assigned to a vehicle when created.
Branch: The three character description of the customers branch.
Archive document: A unique number give to all documents when sorted in the Document archive module.
Vehicle type: E.g. New or Used - Generally if the vehicle type is blank this would indicate that the vehicle was not originally supplied by the dealership and has been created from Point of Sale .
WIP no: If the document module is SO the work in progress document number is displayed.
Analysis details are displayed by right clicking on the analysis section and taking the option for Invoice summary, showing additional information of the spend selected.

Registration: vehicle registration number.
Gross value: Total gross value of the document.
Margin: Total margin of the document.
Invoice no: Invoice number for selected spend.

Tip: The graph tab will only display results if there are figures for the period set in the Date range.
Graphs can be displayed in numerous combinations from the tool bar icons, additional settings can be found in the menu bar called options found at the top of the form.

Graph Selecting graph from the menu options gives a sub menus with the following options. Select as required
3D Chart: Defaults on (or ticked) When the graphs are displayed they show in a three dimensional effect. When the tick is removed by clicking on the menu option the three dimensional effect will be removed from the graphs.
Show values: Show values, un-ticked by default. Tick to show values on selected graph.
Type: Allows you to change between the type of display used e.g. Bar graph or Pie chart.
Content: Graph content changes the values shown on the Y axis for the Bar graph and sector shown in the Pie chart, can be changed to display 1. Gross 2. Net 3. Margin 4. % Margin.
Period: Graph period shows spend based on a monthly or yearly basis, defaults to monthly.
Vehicle: Vehicle is the last choice within the graph section, a sub menu is presented, choose to view all vehicles within the selection or tick the individual vehicle from the list.
