Note: For Volvo, price, supersession and stock updates are currently performed via the Volvo UK Dealer Stocking Package (DSP), not the MASTER PARTS PRICE FILE MENU. Volvo make daily/full raw (source) price and supersession files available, which are uploaded and converted automatically by a Timed Operation. You can use the standard functions provided here to view the master price file and supersession chain file, and analyse discount codes.
The price file software enables you to update the Autoline system with price or supersession data issued by a manufacturer or parts supplier. Depending on the requirements of the manufacturer, the data may be uploaded from a remote computer, or may be supplied on behalf of the manufacturer by the Data & Software Integration (DASI) department at ADP Dealer Services UK Ltd, and uploaded via Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) or tape. Additionally, the Autoline system can be set up to perform automatic updates if required.
If you are supplied with data by the DASI department, the raw (source) data is normally converted to a format recognised by Rev.82 and Rev.83 Autoline systems, and issued to the dealerships. In this case, you are only required to upload the data to the Autoline system, and this is normally done via ISDN. Some manufacturers, however, are supplied with raw data for Rev.83 systems. In this case, you are required to both upload and convert the data. The data is normally uploaded via ISDN and converted via the Price file setup option.
On set-up, and each time a new release of price or supersession data is made available, you are normally required to upload the data to the Autoline system, and convert the data if necessary. For Volvo, however, price and supersession data is uploaded and converted via the Volvo UK Dealer Stocking Package (DSP). On set-up, this is normally carried out by, or on advice from, an Autoline consultant. Thereafter, price and supersession data is automatically uploaded and converted by a Timed Operation.
This menu is displayed when you select the Parts price file menu option from the VOLVO UK OPERATIONS menu. From this menu you can update the Autoline system with a new release of price or supersession data.
