WL Suspend Clockings

The WL Suspend Clockings report is designed to be batched via Timed Operations and is capable of automatic Suspend & Resume of selected technicians at a specified run time. This can also suspend technicians to end of shift for that current day's shift pattern.

Warning: This report creates current live clockings automatically when run, so consideration must be given to its suitability before the report is batched.

Note: This report ignores all technicians that are currently clocked off and not suspended.

An example of WL Suspend Clockings report application is to schedule the report daily at 19.00 hrs in Timed Operations to Suspend selected technicians via the report selection criteria, which can be by Teams, Shifts or All. This checks and ignores selected technicians that are already clocked off and only includes those technicians still clocked on idle or current job. The report then checks if the Use end of shift time? check box is ticked which either suspends technicians to the end of their shift, which in this example is 17.30, or suspends technicians to the current time of 19.00 hrs.

Technicians should normally be Resumed next morning manually by using the Point-of-Sale clock window's reinstate function, or the workshop controller uses the Resume feature on the WL Suspend Clockings report and batches the report to run every morning. This clocks all technicians back on to suspended jobs/idle at the selected time.

Note: Consideration should be given to unplanned sickness or lateness if using auto Resume for start of shift. If the technicians' last action was to suspend a clocking either by this report or manually via the POS clock window, the workshop controller should resume and clock off these technicians before the report auto resumes them, or adjust clockings as necessary.

The report's main uses are as follows:

Note: Consideration should also be given to likelihood of overtime and sickness. Therefore it is best to batch the report to suspend at least 30 minutes after the latest possible overtime clock off. Technicians on additional overtime must either manually clock themselves off, or the workshop controller should use the Adjusted Availability Reasons function to record sickness and overtime, change the default end of shift time for that day and batch the WL Suspend Clockings report with the Use the end of shift time? box ticked, and clock-off time will change to adjusted end of shift time.

Timed Ops Suspend Report (WL) Form

The Timed Ops Suspend Report (WL) form is displayed when you select the WL Suspend Clockings option from the WL REPORTS AND ENQUIRIES menu. From this form you can schedule the WL Suspend Clockings report in Timed Operations.

Note: This is an update report and has no printable output.

Enter shift to suspend: Leave the shift prompt empty for all shifts.

Enter team to suspend: Leave the team prompt empty for all teams.

Enter resource to suspend: Leave the resource prompt empty for all resources.

Enter (S)uspend or (R)esume: Enter a capital S for Suspend or capital R for Resume.

Enter Idle code, Blank for OFF: If technicians are being clocked off or Resumed, leave this field empty. Technicians can be suspended as clocked on to an idle code. This records elapsed time and, when resumed, goes back to the previous record and reinstates the original WIP number/idle with a current clock in time

Warning: Always leave the Idle code field empty if you intend to tick the Use the end of shift time? check box. This is because Use the end of shift time? function is for clocking off a technician to the end of that day's shift and not for clocking them on to an idle code.

Use derived fields: This should always be left unticked unless the report has been copied and modified specifically as part of a chargeable Report Generator request for a list of technicians in derived fields to select/ignore the user's own specification.

Use the end of shift time?: This is unticked by default which means it suspends clock off time to report execution time. This should only be ticked when the report is being batched to run after selected technicians have ended their shift, otherwise a forward clock off is created for end of shift while the technician is still actually working or planning to clock onto new jobs.

PUSH BUTTONS:

OK: The WL Suspend Clockings report is designed for use in Timed Operations and is intended to run at a set time when selected technicians have just stopped/started their normal designated shift pattern. Clicking the OK button causes all selected technicians to be suspended or resumed immediately, and should be avoided.
