Overview
This form enables the creation and administration of accident records for a selected vehicle. A lot of information needs to be stored as a result of an accident and a lot of chasing is required to make sure that tasks are carried out by drivers, repairers, third parties, brokers and rental companies to name but a few. In order to maintain all of this information (and to display it in a sensible way) a single form is used which offers several tabs. Each tab groups information in such a way that it should be reasonably simple to review, create and edit the required data.
Tip: Depending upon whether a new accident record is being created or an existing record is being reviewed/edited various process and fields within this form may be enabled or disabled.
What do you want to do?
To access the Accident Details option:
From the Master Menu, select the Vehicle Administration option and Company required.
The Vehicle Administration Menu is displayed.
Select the Accident Management option.
The Accident Management Summary form is displayed, showing all the current accidents and actions.
There are now two ways to open an existing accident record.
The first, and most simple route, is to use the mouse to hover over the accident record to be opened and double-left-click to open that record.
The second way is to select the
icon.
This displays the Search for Accident form which enables an existing accident record to be located by allowing entry of one of the following search criteria: Accident No. Registration No.. Date or Driver name.
Enter the required criteria and select the Search command button; this invokes a search of all Accident records, including completed records. If only one record meets the entered criteria then the Accident form enabling review or data editing of an existing accident record.
If more than one Accident record meets the selection criteria use the mouse to double-left-click on the record to open it.
The Accident Tab holds a field called ULR?; when this checkbox is selected the system prompts for completion of ULR details. Select the OK command button and the system opens the ULR Tab.
Select either the icon or press Ctrl + U on the keyboard. This opens
a new ULR record.
Once the details have been entered select the
icon and the
icon. The details of the
uninsured losss recovery are now displayed in a grid form on the ULR Tab.
To access the Accident Details record:
From the Master Menu, select the Vehicle Administration option and Company required.
The Vehicle Administration Menu is displayed.
Select the Accident Management option.
The Accident Management form is displayed.
Select the or the
icon or single-left-click on a record contained
within the Accident Grid.
This form is split into five parts that are as follows:
Title Bar
In addition to displaying the form name the Title Bar provides a number of other useful identification criteria and buttons. The accident record number is displayed in this area.

The Third Party form enables the recording of as many third party names and addresses and witnesses as required against an accident. This is a useful feature, for example, if the driver is involved in a multiple pile-up on the motorway. |

The Witness form enables the recording of as many witnesses as required against an accident. This is a useful feature, for example, if the driver is involved in a multiple pile-up on the motorway. |
Records > Estimate | ![]() |
The Estimate form enables the recording of as many estimates for repair as required against the damaged vehicle. After a number of estimates have been recorded then the required estimate can then be accepted. |
Records > ULR | ![]() |
The ULR form enables the recording of uninsured loss recovery records for the accident. |
Records > Invoice | ![]() |
The Invoice form enables the recording of repair costs for the accident. |
Utilities > Document Scanning | Displays the Document Scanning form that enables a variety of forms relating to the current accident to be scanned into the system and indexed against the appropriate unique accident record number or vehicle registration number. These documents can then be retrieved and reviewed. | |

Accident Details Dialogue Box
The Accident Details Dialogue Box contains a series of nine tabs which become enabled at the appropriate time. These Tabs allow accident details to be entered against an existing accident record. The nine Tabs are as follows:
