The GM Workbench Administrator is used by System Administrators and enables you to access the following functions:
Setup parameters
Managing generic jobs
Data import and conversion
Fluid mapping
Complexity mapping
Preferred parts setup
Viewing reports (sales, lost sales and usage statistics)
View file usage statistics
To use the Workbench Administrator functions:
From the GENERAL MOTORS OPERATIONS menu, select the GM Workbench Administrator option and the Point-of-Sale company name if you are prompted for one.
The Vauxhall Aftersales Workbench Administrator form is displayed.

The Data Import facility imports data into the DMS for use in Point-of-Sale. Firstly the source data is loaded onto the Autoline server. Then the source data is converted into the Autoline database.
To import and convert source data:
Click the Data import icon on the Shortcuts sidebar. When you are ready, click Next to run the Data Import and Conversion wizard.
When the wizard has run, a message confirms that the data import is complete and the source data has been converted successfully. Click Finish to return to the Vauxhall Aftersales Workbench Administrator form.
The Vauxhall Aftersales Workbench records sales and lost sales information, together with usage statistics.
To display statistics:
Click the Reports icon on the Shortcuts sidebar to display the Reports form. Click Close to return to the Vauxhall Aftersales Workbench Administrator form.
Fluid mapping is used to map generic part numbers from Vauxhall. For example, ENGINE_OIL can be mapped to a part number on your stock file.
To map part numbers:
Click the Fluid mapping icon on the Shortcuts sidebar to display the Fluid Mapping form. Click Close to return to the Vauxhall Aftersales Workbench Administrator form.
The Preferred Parts function enables you to change part numbers on the fly, automatically. As you may not always use the part number suggested by Vauxhall, you can set up your own preferred part numbers.
To substitute part numbers:
Click the Preferred parts icon on the Shortcuts sidebar to display the Preferred Parts form. Click Close to return to the Vauxhall Aftersales Workbench Administrator form.
Complexity Mapping is used to set specific labour rates and mark-up percentages on more complex jobs.
To set rates for complex jobs:
Click the Complexities icon on the Shortcuts sidebar to display the Complexity Mapping form. Click Close to return to the Vauxhall Aftersales Workbench Administrator form.
This form is displayed when you click GENERAL MOTORS OPERATIONS menu > GM Workbench Administrator. It enables you to use the GM Workbench Administrator facilities.
Menu bar Toolbar Action File > Exit Returns you to the GENERAL MOTORS OPERATIONS Menu. Tools > Options Displays the Shopping Basket Options form, which enables you to tailor the software to the needs of each Point-of-Sale company. Tools > Email and SMS — Enables you to define a template for sending quotes to customers via email and SMS. Tools > Menu Pricing parameters — Enables you to display and amend the menu pricing parameters. Tools > Generic jobs — Enables you to manage generic jobs (such as MOT) for display in GM Menu Pricing. Tools > Web Service parameters — Enables you to amend the Web Service Parameter Record either for the currently selected company or for the template for all companies. Tools > XML Security Firewall parameters — Enables you to edit the XML Security Firewall parameters for the currently selected company. Tools > Test menu pricing connection — Enables you to test menu pricing connectivity. Tools > File viewer — Lists the files that are controlled by the Shopping Basket interface, with the option of editing them. Tools > Display WIP — Displays a list of WIPs that can be filtered by WIP number, document number and date. Help > Help Displays this help topic in your default browser.
Shortcuts sidebar:
Data import: Imports source data and converts it into the Autoline file format.
Reports: Displays sale, lost sale and usage statistics.
Fluid mapping: Maps generic part numbers from Vauxhall to part numbers used by the dealership.
Preferred parts: Substitutes part numbers automatically.

Option Buttons:
Sales: When selected, displays a grid and a graph showing today's sales broken down by item category, number of jobs and the total value of the sales.
Lost sales: When selected, displays a grid and a graph showing today's lost sales broken down by lost sale reason, number of jobs and the total value of the lost sales.
