From the System maintenance menu, you can control certain System maintenance functions. This menu is displayed when you select the System maintenance option from the SR Showroom main menu.
Salesperson settings: If switched on will allow the user/s to have different parameters than that held is system parameters. Once this option is in use the individual user parameters will override any matching system parameters
Prevent/allow access: Select this option to prevent users from entering the Showroom module. For example, in order to verify files, this option is used. By preventing access you can stop new users entering the Showroom module. When current users leave the module, this option will prevent them from re-entering it.
Reset in use flags: Select the Reset in use flags program to run down the Vehicle records, resetting any Vehicle records that are locked in use. Vehicle records would only normally be locked if another user is accessing the same Vehicle record as you at the same time. However, in the case of power cuts, or somebody inadvertently switching off a terminal that is accessing a Vehicle record, it is possible for a Vehicle record to become locked.
Default record maintenance: Displays the SR default record maintenance where initial default records can be amended.
Reset in-progress quotes: This program is designed to run down the outstanding quotations file deleting the in-progress indicator for any enquiry where it is still set. It is designed for use during the end-of-day or at any stage where there are no longer deemed to be any enquiries that should be regarded as 'in-progress', such as if the showroom is closed during a lunch break.
Reset deleted quotes: This program is designed to run down the outstanding quotations file allowing the deletion flag (STATUS = X) to be reset for any enquiry where it has been marked for deletion, but not yet consolidated out of the file. If this action is taken the current status of the enquiry (STATUS) will be reversed from a value of X to the status which it previously held (PREVSTAT) prior to being marked up for deletion.
Consolidate files: This routine is provided to check the status of all of the records held in the Showroom quotations file and comparing the last edited date held for each type of quotation against the system parameters - retention tab., removing any records which are no longer required, and move any closed records to the status at which they can be deleted.
Log file search: Displays a history of certain movements / changes made to an enquiry or stock number.
File usage statistics: This program provides you with a list of all the files within the showroom database and the percentage 'in use' situation as far as each one is concerned. It displays the file sizes, the number of records within a file and the percentage of the file currently being used. The end-of-day program will automatically include any files on a report which have exceeded their set warning level, but this program can be used to monitor the situation in between times.
Verify files: This program is used to verify that all the files within the showroom database are intact and that no corruption has occurred. It is vital routine to carry out after a hardware or software fault has occurred.
System parameters: The showroom System parameters control how the module operates for individual dealers, and are used to allow variable operation of the system according to the management style and data structure of the dealer(s) concerned.
Delete specific enquiry: Enter the required enquiry number to delete or click the to search.
Remove partition locks: If a user has exited autoline without logging off correctly this may cause a partition lock, at this point we can either clear all or an individual lock.
New car search format: This menu option is only present if switched on in the Showroom System Parameters form New vehicle user defined display? field. You can use New car search format (NCS) to define the Showroom New vehicle search stock criteria. If there are no entries in the format the original system search criteria is used.
