Manually Creating a Claim

You can create a claim manually when the WIP number is known.

To create a claim manually:

  1. From the GENERAL MOTORS OPERATIONS menu select the Warranty option.

The Warranty Menu V1 is displayed.

  2. Select the Warranty option and enter the Point-of-Sale (SO) company number if you are asked for it.

The GM Warranty form is displayed with the Details tab active.

  3. Select Mode > Standard from the drop-down menu.

The Standard option is marked with a tick.

  4. Select File > Create from the drop-down menu or click the Create Create.gif button.

The WIP number field is selected.

  5. Enter the number of the WIP you want to process and press TAB.

The GM Warranty form grid is populated with details of the claim, with all three tabs visible. You can check and amend the details of a repair or amend the claim details as necessary.

  6. Select File > Save from the drop-down menu or click the Save Create.gif button.

If the claim fails validation the reason is displayed, enabling you to make any necessary amendments. When the details are all valid the claim is created.
